An orthophoto, orthophotograph, or orthoimage is a large number of aerial photographs that have been stitched together and have been geometrically corrected (ortho-rectified) such that the scale is uniform.

An orthophotograph has the same lack of distortion as a map and is generally referred to as an orthomosaic map.

Unlike an uncorrected aerial photograph, an orthophotograph can be used to measure true distances because it is an accurate representation of the Earth's surface, having been adjusted for topographic relief, lens distortion, and camera tilt.

Ortho maps can be useful for - Checking the dimensions of your property, any structures (house, shed, pool, etc), and any items on the roof (solar panels, pool heating, etc).
